In 2020 Grubs Boots celebrates their 20-year anniversary. Since their inception Grubs Boots have focused on innovative construction, merging the feel of athletic footwear, with the practicality of a wellington boot. Over the past 20 years Grubs have won many awards in the shooting industry and further afield (excuse the pun).

After 20 years the goal remains the same; to produce comfortable, warm, 100% waterproof wellies with exceptional grip. This has resulted in the classic boots remaining at the heart of the range for two decades. With boots suited to leisure, field-sports, agriculture, equestrian, safety, gardening and more, you’re sure to find a boot that suits.

Grubs is a family business based in Bolton, with 9 generations of the Foster family working in the footwear industry (Since Samuel Foster started his business in Draycott, Derbyshire in 1776), so it’s safe to say, they know a thing about footwear!

All of Grubs Wellies come with a one-year warranty which covers manufacturing defects. It does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage (pitch-forks and barbed-wire for example) and it doesn’t cover them if you don’t look after the boots. Find out how to look after your wellies.

Wellies.com LOVES Grubs wellies. We have been selling these boots for many years because they tick all of our boxes. In addition to them being comfortable, warm, waterproof and having great treads, they’re also well-made and at a great price point. Without further ado. Here’s a run-down of the range…

The deep tread gives you great grip on all terrains. Grubs Fieldsports Wellies

For the shooters, beaters and picker-up folk amongst us. Grubs have 2 great options. The Speyline and the Highline. Both are full-rubber wellies that feature gussets and tightening straps. The gusset accommodates for larger calves, whilst the strap neatens everything back up. These are traditional looking wellies and will not look out of place on any shoot. Of course, you can use them for  a plethora of other jobs too.

The Speyline features a 3mm neoprene lining, so is ideal for the colder months, whilst the Highline features  a light-weight lining, so it’s ideal for those warmer months/those that are constantly on the move or for those lucky ones who don’t feel the cold!

Both are available in 2 “earthy” colours. The Speyline is a man’s boot available in sizes 6 – 13, whilst the Highline is a unisex boot available in sizes 4 – 13.

Grubs Agricultural Wellies

Grubs have 3 boots in their agricultural range; the Fenline, Eskline and Tayline. Each suited to a different style of farming. The main difference is in the sole unit.

The Fenline is ideal for dairy farming; the sole is designed specifically for hard, wet surfaces, i.e. wet concrete yards.

The Eskline has an excellent all-round grip, great on hard, wet surfaces and soft surfaces alike, the Eskline is most suited to Hill farming due to its upgraded thermal insulation as it features a toasty 8.5mm neoprene lining.

The Tayline is your arable farming welly. Featuring a tractor-like tread, it’s best suited to soft ground.

Both the Fenline and the Tayline feature a 5mm neoprene lining, so they’re nice warm boots, but – as discussed – not many boots come warmer than the Eskline with it’s 8.5mm thick neoprene lining. These boots all come in sizes 6 – 13.

Grubs Safety Wellies

Grubs Safety boots are made to S5 Safety Standards. So they have toe protection, they are antistatic, oil-resistant, have energy absorption in the heel, are waterproof and have midsole penetration protection. They conform to all the relevant safety standards you need so they can be used in practically all construction/environments.

The two boots in the range are the Ceramic and the Ceramic Driver. Both boots contain zero metallic parts. The steel toe-cap has been replaced with a ceramic toe-cap, which still conforms to BS EN ISO 20345 S5 safety standards, but makes for a warmer boot (no cold steel).

Both the full welly and the short driver are very popular boots. The full welly obviously provides more leg protection and warmth, whilst the driver is a shorter boot designer specifically for machinery drivers in mind (where a full welly can be cumbersome). Both boots are available in sizes 6 – 13.

Grubs Cold-Weather Field Boots

For those super cold months you may need a warmer boot. This is where the Treeline and the Snowline come in. Both feature 8.5mm neoprene lining, which is the thickest lining you will ever need (unless you’re moving to Sibera I suppose). Both feature the Vibram® Bristol™ sole, which is a fantastic all-terrain tread. The main difference between the two boots is in the upper.

The Treeline has a ripstop material protecting the neoprene whilst the Snowline has the standard (but thick) neoprene leg. This is why the Treeline is a touch more expensive than the Snowline. If you spend a lot of time in rough undergrowth, the Treeline is definitely the one to go for as the ripstop material will reduce the chances of pulls in the neoprene from twigs etc. These men’s boot come in sizes 6 – 13.

Grubs have 2 boots in their equestrian range. The Rideline and the Outline. Both are rubber boots with a 5mm neoprene lining, so they’re nice and warm on the yard.

The Rideline is a full-length riding welly, whilst the Outline is an ankle-height yard boot which can be ridden in. The soles of these boots feature Grubs’ own Grip-Grid™ technology, the sole of the boots grips the stirrup giving the rider more control over the horse. They also feature a kick-spur, this feature on the heel keeps spurs in place and can also be used to remove the boots with ease. They are available in sizes 4 – 8

Grubs Gardening Shoes

Last, but by no means least, we have the Grubs Gardening Shoes. The Midline is an ankle boot available in 2 colours, moss green and violet, and the Woodline is a rubber shoe. Both are fantastic for gardening. They both feature a 5mm neoprene lining, so they offer some warmth. Obviously they won’t be as warm as a full length welly, but for gardening in spring/summer, these are ideal.

The Midline feature Grubs own Trax™ sole, which is a deeply lugged tread which provides traction on all surfaces, whilst the Woodline has a self-cleaning type of tread which is fantastic for when you’re in the muddy borders. The Midline comes in sizes 3 – 13 in the Moss and 4 – 8 in the violet, whilst the Woodline is available in the green only, in sizes 4 – 13.
